David's Restaurant across from the asheboro ABC store. It's ran by the same folks that run Burrito Brothers. SUPER fresh avocado. great onion rings.

no way! I had heard that Maribella and her family had sold BB's and were opening another place across from the ABC store, but when I passed it one night and saw David's, figured I'd gotten the story messed up. That is so cool. I look forward to eating there. Maribella was always so gracious to us; we even had Slate's 10th b'day party at BB, and she joined us for dessert. Thanks for the head's up!
so who is running BB? I know the original owner is doing Burrito Express over by Something Different, and recognized the guys in David's from BB...
I hope they stay afloat at BB. It is set apart from the other places around here for being authentic/proud.
Matt, I'm not sure who owns BB now. They are doing a pretty good job I think, but we used to eat there so often the waitresses recognized us, as did the owner, and I don't find it to be as intimate as it was. The food is still good though. I look forward to going to David's. I'll have to take my son too. Whenever I used to go to BB w/o him, Maribella always asked, "hola, where's Slate?" I eat the spinach enchiladas these days. Tasty.
