...because another local business bites the dust.
it's a shame, too. Rumor has it that the owner cleaned the shop out over the weekend and has said nothing more about it to anyone.

Matt, I think it's safe to say the location has become uninhabitable. I think there have been 4-5 different establishments there since I moved here 19 years ago. Anywhere else, a restaurant near the courthouse would have a pretty good biz. Have yet to make it to David's, but hope to soon.
Yeah, it's an impossible location to start with. 1 entrance/exit and very difficult parking.
Were there any viable storefronts on Sunset that weren't owned by someone looking to gouge the business to death, it might work.
Ya know, that being said, it makes me wonder why Quoteables didn't do well enough to stay afloat.
I really feel bad. I did not make it to the bagel shop. I love bagels but I just did not make the time in the morning before work to go. The location had something to do with not going. It was just out of the way and bad parking. I wish they could find another spot for the shop. I did however make it to David's yesterday n after work and it was great.
It makes me wonder, though, if it isn't just the type of business. If someone were to open a Panera bread here near the courthouse, I would think it would do well. I would certainly have better stuff that other coffeeshops, etc. The Bagel shop, I think, was a niche business. It was something quaint that most folks said "we'll have to try that..." but never did.
A sushi restaurant (US Sushi, etc) wouldn't survive as the majority of folks around here view sushi as "bait" and nothing more. It's a narrowminded area and new things are going to have to go above and beyond to survive. Being in an inhospitable location is something that a business like that can't afford.
I'm longwinded when I haven't had my morning coffee yet.
